Surfing For Surfing Physics?

John asks…What are the physics involved in surfing?Not so much the waves but the actual board.Nancy answers:The word of the day is friction. The wave is basically pushing the board although gravity plays a key role, but as far as the board is concerned, friction is the force working against you.
