Surfing For Physics Formulas For Acceleration?

Helen asks…What is the physics formula for acceleration?Nancy answers:Do you mean F=m*a?

Force = mass x acceleration

or...

Acceleration = force/massWilliam asks…question on physics acceleration formula... urgent... give 10 points?I know that the formula of displacement is Dx= Vot+(1/2)at^2

Vo : Initial velocity
t : time
a: acceleration
Dx : displacement
Vf : final velocity

But i don't understand why...

The formula for velocity is: Vf=V0+at

If i substitute v for x/t then i get
