Surfing For How Many Liters Of A 90 Acid Solution?

Charles asks…setting up and solving precalculus word problems?how do you solve this?:

how many liters of a 40% solution of acid must be combined with 3 liters or a 90% solution of acid to get a 50& solution?
never mind that first question, i wrote it down wrong. it's supposed to be:

how many liters of a 40% solution of acid must be combined with 3 liters of a 90% solution of acid to get a 50% solution?Nancy answers:Is the right answer 12 L?
