Surfing For How Many Liters Of A 30 Alcohol Solution?

Thomas asks…Please help with linear equations?A chemist wants to get 200L of 37% of alcohol solution by volume by mixing 40% alcohol solution with 30% alcohol solution. How many liters of each should be used?

I don't understand...what do they mean "by volume" ? And why are there so many different percentages of solutions? HELP!!!Nancy answers:By volume just means the percentage is calculated by mL /100 mL instead of by weight, where it would be calculated by grams/100mL.
