Mark asks…how many liters of a 30% alcohol solution should be mixed with 10 L of pure alcohol to produce 40% alcohol?Nancy answers:One would need 56 liter of 30% alcohol...
Ha! There is a trick. There is no such thing as 100% alcohol I think the closed is 96%.
The equation is 0.3(x) + 10(.96) =0.4(10+x)
solving for x=5.6/.1 = 56 liter of 30% solution.
So 56 liter of 30% mixed with 10 liters of pure(96%) alcohol will give you a 40% solution of alcohol.John asks…Anyone like mixing
