Surfing For Reaction Distance Driving?

Mandy asks…kinematics please help?A driver takes 0.2s to apply brakes after he sees a need for it.This is called reaction time of the driver.If he is driving a car at a speed of 54km/hr and the brakes cause a deceleration of 6 m/s^2,
find the distance travelled by the car after he sees the need to put the brakes on.Nancy answers:54km/hour = 15m/s.

Distance traveled in 0.2 s = 0.2 x15 m =3m.

Distance traveled with a deceleration of 6m/s^2 is found

using the relation V^2 = U^2 + 2 a
