Surfing For Physics Formulas For Waves?

George asks…I have a physics question. Can anyone help me with finding the amplitude of an ac signal using voltage only?An ac ammeter connected to an ac signal reads 50 V.
Calculate the amplitude of the signal.
I only have the formula
Z=V/I
and other such variations, but I am only given V, which is 50. Please help, my physics prof sucks and can't help a student without humiliating them and/or pissing them off.Nancy answers:An ammeter does not indicate voltage,a voltmeter does.
AC is a sine
