Surfing For Reaction Distance?

Susan asks…Describe factors affecting vehicle stopping distance including speed, mass, road condition and reaction time?Nancy answers:The faster the car, the greater the stopping distance. This is due to the equation of kinetic energy 0.5 x mass x velocity squared (0.5mv^2). From this, one can see that if the speed is doubled, the braking is multiplied by 4 (2^2 = 4).

The greater the mass of the car, the greater the stopping distance.
Using the above formula again, one can see that doubling
