Surfing For Reaction Distance Formula?

Sandy asks…Does anyone know the formula for this math problem?A powerful hockey player can shoot a puck at 55 m/s. A skilled goalie has a reaction time of about 0.23 s. What is the maximum distance from the goal that the player can shoot so that the puck will reach the goal before the goalie can react to stop it?Nancy answers:Time distance problem
d = v T
if d to goal is less than reaction time x v then the puck is in goal before the goalie can move.
